A reference for buyers outside Japan: what Japanese shops mean by condition, what they will and will not ship, and what the money actually buys.

How the pages are made

Every page is built from primary sources — the retailer's own condition page, warranty terms or manufacturer documentation — collected on the date shown at the top of the page. Where a retailer does not publish a definition, we say so rather than infer one. Translations of Japanese labels are ours; the original wording is quoted or linked so it can be checked.

Pages are reviewed against the source before publication. A page that cannot be traced to a primary source is not published.

Corrections

If a shop has changed a policy or a definition, the page is wrong and we want to fix it. Write to [email protected] with the page and the source.

What this site is not

We do not sell cameras, hold inventory, or act as an agent for any retailer. We do not accept payment for a favourable grade or ranking. Condition definitions are set by each retailer and can change.
